Grand Strand Area Transportation Study - The Grand Strand Area Transportation Study (GSATS) is currently being updated. This effort will result this fall with the production of a new Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) for the Grand Strand. Federal regulations require that projects be included in an approved LRTP in order to be eligible for federal funding programs. You are invited to go to the web site www.GSATS.org and let your feelings and opinions be known by taking one or both of the surveys available there. You can also make comments regarding your priorities for projects being considered for inclusion in the plan.
There are 2 projects being considered on the preliminary Candidate Project List (CPL) which will have direct impact on us at Tidewater:
- A project to widen Little River Neck Road to three lanes with center medians and left turn lanes such as our Tidewater gate area where appropriate. This project is Reference number 34 on the CPL if you wish to comment on it specifically!
- A project to improve the awkward “Y” intersection alignment at Little River Neck Road and Hill Street. This project is Reference number 53 on the CPL if you wish to comment on it specifically.
There are 2 other projects in our area which will also impact us as they are built:
- A reconfiguration of the Sea Mountain Highway, SC 9 and US17 interchange to remove the loop ramps and weaving movements between US 17 and Sea Mountain Highway (CPL Reference number 60).
- A reconfiguration of the SC 9 and Highway 17 interchange to directly connect SC 9 and North bound Highway 17 and SC90 with west bound SC 9 and Northbound highway 17. (CPL Reference number 61).
The Government Liaison Committee and your Board of Directors urge you to take advantage of this opportunity to make your feelings and opinions known. The surveys and comment areas will remain on the web site until April 1.

Help Wanted
The following committees are looking for volunteers to assist them in support of the Tidewater Community.
The Committee Chairperson is listed as contact if you would like to get additional information on their needs.
Wanted:The IT Committee can always use additional people who have computer and network skills. Contact Greg Solowey, gsolowey@gmail.com or call 249-9737.
Communication via Email
The Tidewater Board of Directors and Communication Committee occasionally send out time sensitive information to you via email broadcast. We limit the number of broadcasts and send only those that we believe are important to our property owners.
If you are not getting emails from us, please send your name, address, and email address to Communication@Tidewaterhoa.org and we’ll enter it in our property owner’s database. If you did not receive the email regarding the St Augustine grass purchase or the proposed Community Act Bill, you need to get your information to us.
Tidewater Visitor Registration
All owners who have visitors (cleaning people, service personnel, or just guests) who
need access to the community can pre-register their visitors with Chicora.
register! Your visitor
information will be recorded and will then be available on the Guard Station computer.
When those guests arrive they will be permitted to enter the property without you calling
ahead or the Watchman having to take the time to call you for permission for each visit. You
can always add or remove names from your authorized list of guests. The forms will be
available on the web site and at the Chicora office in the Administration Building.
